During a joint operation involving SAPS RRPU, Gauteng Traffic Wardens STT (Northern Corridor), TSHENOLO P.I, and GTW Rietgat, law enforcement officials were conducting crime prevention patrols in Soshanguve Block P when they noticed suspicious activity near a delivery truck.
The officers discovered an armed robbery in progress where two suspects were inside a Checkers truck, threatening the driver at gunpoint and robbing him of his belongings.
The suspects exited the truck with the stolen goods and attempting to flee. One suspect was apprehended on the spot in possession of a firearm, while the second suspect was tracked down with the assistance of community members and found hiding in a nearby toilet.
The team recovered a firearm, as well as the victims stolen cellphone and money. The suspects were arrested on charges of armed robbery and possession of an imitation firearm.
