This morning (Saturday 08:45) Reaction Unit South Africa responded to a reported hijacking in Zwelisha, KZN, where two bread delivery employees were held at gunpoint with 9mm pistols.
The suspects forced the men into the back of their truck and tried to drive off. When the vehicle slowed over a speed bump, the driver and crew managed to escape.
Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) was alerted immediately and began searching.
Tracking information pointed only to a general vicinity. Officers combed the Amaoti a KZN area on foot and vehicles, speaking to locals until the abandoned truck was found at 09:57. The suspects had already fled.
The vehicle was recovered and handed over to the tracking company.
