The Department of Roads and Public Works urgently cautions all road users that following recent rainfall in the Hantam Region (Namakwa District), many gravel roads are currently wet, muddy, and extremely slippery.
🚛 Heavy-duty vehicles, especially truck drivers, are strongly advised NOT to use wet and muddy gravel roads to prevent accidents, road damage, and vehicles becoming stuck.
📍 IMPORTANT ROUTE NOTICE:When travelling on the Swartkop to Onderste Doornrivier (DR281) Road: ➡️ DO NOT turn off at the Hoezar Farm intersection ➡️ Continue straight onto the DR2978 ➡️ This route safely connects to the Van Wyksvlei-Brandvlei Road
