While conducting crime prevention duties, officers received a request for backup from Cartrack following the tracking of a hijacked motor vehicle in Anchorville, Lenasia.
Officers responded to the location & upon arrival pursued the suspects who fled on foot into nearby bushes. A chase ensued, however, the suspects managed to evade arrest. Officers subsequently recovered a partially stripped silver Renault Triber, which had reportedly been hijacked in Tembisa.
Acting on further information received officers proceeded to another location in Lehae where they recovered a second motor vehicle that had reportedly been hijacked in the Lenasia CBD.
Both recovered vehicles were booked in at the Lenasia Vehicle Identification SAPS Pound for further investigation. The search for the suspects is ongoing.
