Twelve people were left injured this morning, one of them critically, when a minibus and truck collided on Onverwacht Road in the Strand area of the Western Cape.
ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene to find the minibus against a traffic light while the truck had come to a stop a short distance away. Several patients were found walking around on the scene while several others were found inside the minibus.
Paramedics assessed the patients and found that one man had sustained numerous injuries and was in a critical condition. Eleven other patients had sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate.
The patients were treated for their injuries, and the critically injured man provided with advanced life support interventions, before they were transported to nearby hospitals for further treatment.
The exact details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
