Yesterday, the KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison, Mr. Mxolisi Kaunda, has issued a stern warning to the truck drivers who continue to cause disruptions and blockade the high ways in spite of the ongoing negotiations with employers to address their plight.
Kaunda was speaking at a meeting convened by the Departments Transport as well as Community Safety and Liaison to give feedback on the complaints raised by truck drivers last month, which include illegal employment of foreign truck drivers.
Represented by the National Truck Drivers Association and the Association of Truck Drivers, Kaunda urged the drivers to desist from violent actions which have characterised their protests in the country.
