Members of the Limpopo Provincial Vispol Task Team, Limpopo Flying Squad, and Giyani Vispol swiftly operationalised a tip-off which led to the recovery of two motor vehicles, found abandoned along the road in Serageng village, Nebo police precinct, and Giyani Dzumeri area on Wednesday,17 January 2024 at about 03:00.

While busy with operations, the police received information about three African males, two armed with firearms, who robbed a spaza shop during which an undisclosed amount of cash, cigarettes, a flash machine were taken before the suspects hijacked an Isuzu truck that was busy offloading Coca-Cola products at the spaza shop during the incident, and fled the scene.

The Isuzu truck with North West registration was found abandoned on the side of the road in Dzumeri after the team followed the information on the truck.

It is reported that the second motor vehicle, a Ford Ranger bakkie with GP registration number, is suspected to have
been used to commit a cash-in-transit robbery on Monday, 15 January 2024, at Setlaboswane village. It was found abandoned at Serageng village in Nebo Policing Precinct.

Upon searching the Ford Ranger bakkie, one empty cartridge of a rifle was found at the back of the bakkie.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the Ford Ranger motor vehicle was reported stolen at Bronkhorstspruit in December 2023. Police investigations are still ongoing.
