The Department wishes to inform road users that a crane truck has become immobilised on the MR588 at Sakrivier Bridge, between Fraserburg and Loxton, due to an electrical fault. The vehicle is currently stranded on the bridge, resulting in restricted access and traffic disruptions.
Motorists are urged to avoid the area where possible and to exercise extreme caution when travelling in the vicinity.
🛣️ ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Road users travelling between Fraserburg and Carnarvon are advised to utilise the MR566, which forms part of the R308 route, as an alternative route until further notice.
The Department is actively attending to the situation and will provide further updates once the vehicle has been recovered and normal traffic flow has been restored.
