Two people were killed and another four sustained injuries ranging from moderate to serious after a bakkie and a heavy goods truck collided on the N1 at the Brandfort / Verkeerdevlei intersection.
All the occupants of the bakkie were ejected from the vehicle on impact.
Various services attended the scene and traffic flow was disrupted for several hours whilst the scene was cleared.
Patients were transported to various hospitals in Bloemfontein for further care.
