The Trans Kalahari Joint Law Enforcement Operation is in full swing. It’s all hands on deck to enforce compliance along the N4.
Bapong Traffic Control Centre is the current location of TKCJLEO officials from Botswana, Namibia and South Africa, who are interacting with truck drivers during a wellness check programme. This is a measure to encourage truck drivers, especially those who travel long distances to prioritise their wellness, through stop and stretch breaks, vital checks and ensuring that they rest in between their long drives.
Officials also did a walkabout to see how the entire traffic control centre operates, starting at the point where vehicles enter the weighbridge, to the scaling of weight and all processes involved in determining the legally prescribed load for a truck to carry.
