
The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police in Mpumalanga, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Daphney Manamela has vowed that no act of criminality will be allowed in the province.
Her remarks come after a 50-year-old suspect was arrested yesterday, 19 January 2022, at Tweefontein for possession of a stolen truck and two trailers.
The police received information from a tracking company that a truck, which has been hijacked in Pretoria, was around Tweefontein. Police swiftly acted and searched around for the truck until the truck was found on the gravel road next to the Vivo garage. Police then stopped the driver who alighted from the truck and ran away. The member chased the suspect on foot and arrested him.
The arrested suspect is expected to appear in the Kwamhlanga Magistrate’s Court on Friday, 21 January 2022 for possession of a suspected stolen vehicle.
The Provincial Commissioner has also praised the energetic member for his sterling crime-fighting efforts.
