Empire Protection Services, was alerted by a private investigator to a Isuzu Rollback(White) owned by a private company loaded with a cherry picker that was believed to be hijacked in the KwaMashu area of Durban in KZN after communication was lost with the driver.
Members of Empire Protection Services were dispatched and recovered the vehicle together with members from the South African Police Service on the side of a main road in KwaMashu-A section_KZN.
This was lead to be an extortion gimmick by Tow Truck operators in the area who demanded a R5000-00 realise fee for the truck being in the area without their knowledge.
The vehicle was escourted to KwaMashu SAPS and thereafter out of the area without any payment exchanging hands.
This recovery was made possible through team work with recovery agents, South African Police Service and members of the Private Security Industry and Investigations.
