On Wednesday, 9 September 2026, the team comprised Provincial FLASH members, Brakpan SAPS Social Crime members, service providers and Gauteng Gambling Board members who conducted a gambling operation in Brakpan, Ekurhuleni District.
The team was briefed and provided with a seizure warrant relating to suspected illegal gambling activities at an internet lounge in Brakpan. Upon arrival at the premises, the team served the person in charge with the warrant and subsequently contacted the owner, who was also served with the warrant.
The operation resulted in the seizure of 31 computers linked to illegal gambling, cash, a Speed Point, a scanner and an internet router, which were safely packaged and transported to Brakpan SAPS.
Police investigations are ongoing.
