On Monday, 02 November and Tuesday, 03 November 2026, Benoni Flying Squad members arrested four suspects and recovered a truck, robbed goods and dagga.

On Monday evening at around 21:00, members pulled over a grey Ford Ranger on the R23 corner Main Reef Road, Benoni. The 21-year-old driver was immediately arrested when members found five (05) large plastic bags of dagga in the vehicle. A charge of bribery was added when the suspect offered members three thousand six hundred and (R3600-00) for his release.

On Tuesday afternoon just after 14:00, a member monitoring a community crime group noticed a post from an officer of the Task Tactical Security for the whereabouts of a white Isuzu truck hijacked from Pomona earlier.

Members immediately responded to the address, a plot in Glen Norton Road, Benoni Agricultural Holdings. Upon arrival, they found the truck on the premises and a security officer that had already apprehended a suspect.

A thorough search of the property led to the arrest of two more suspects by members as well as the recovery of 139 computer monitors, a printer and a cartridge. These items taken during the robbery were found in the Isuzu truck and hidden all over the plot including in a deep freezer, on a roof as well as in and outside various constructions. Unfortunately, it was alleged that three vehicles had already left with some of the robbed goods.

The three suspects aged between 27 to 34 were detained at Putfontein SAPS.

Investigation continues in all cases.

The suspects will appear in the Benoni Magistrate’s Court facing charges of possession of and dealing in drugs and possession of a hijacked truck and property. #TrioCrimes
