While conducting routine patrols along Kruger Road in President Park, members of SAPS, Gauteng Traffic Wardens (Midrand), and Hawkeye Security Solutions intercepted a suspicious bakkie fully loaded with sealed boxes.
Upon stopping and searching the vehicle, officers discovered that the boxes contained bottles of vodka. The driver failed to produce any documentation verifying the legality or origin of the alcohol and was unable to provide a reasonable explanation for its possession.
Both the driver and passenger admitted that the alcohol was being transported to Tembisa.
The two suspects were arrested, and a total of 470 boxes of vodka were confiscated and booked in at Midrand SAPS for further investigation.
