A man was left critically injured this afternoon when two trucks collided on the Fairbanks Road in Vanderbijlpark.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at approximately 12h10.
Upon closer inspection, paramedics found a large truck and light delivery vehicle on the side of the road.
The driver of the delivery vehicle was found lying trapped inside his vehicle. Paramedics assessed the man and found that he was in a critical condition.
Rescue services had to use specialized equipment to free the man from the vehicle.
Once freed, paramedics treated the man and provided him with advanced life support interventions. The man was later transported to Sebokeng
Provincial Hospital for further treatment.
The driver of the second truck fortunately escaped injury.
The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
