The Gauteng Department of Community Safety has noted the arrest of two officials from the Bike Unit attached to the Gauteng Traffic Police (GTP). The officials were apprehended on 22 March 2025 in connection with a truck hijacking incident.
The two officials have been handed over to law enforcement for further investigation.
The department has initiated an internal inquiry to assess any breaches of conduct and ensure accountability at all levels.
