On 19 January 2026, TMPD officer was patrolling along the R513 towards Pretoria when he spotted an overloaded truck towing an overloaded trailer without number plate affixed on it.
He stopped the vehicle and escorted it to Akasia weighbridge for weighing, where the combination was found to be more than 40% overloaded. The truck was unroadworthy and received a Defect Notice (DU). The trailer was unroadworthy, unregistered, and impounded with cost.
The driver was directed to secure a roadworthy truck to reload and transport the load safely. TMPD applauds this level of commitment to ensuring safer roads for everyone.
