While conducting their duties on Tuesday, 13 February 2024, the Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) K9 Unit members received a tip-off about a blue Toyota Hilux that was involved in the theft of a motorcycle in Villieria, east of Pretoria.

The K9 Unit members followed up and spotted the vehicle. They then gave chase and managed to stop the vehicle on the R21/Nellmapius Drive interchange.

The motorcycle was found under the sail in the back of the Toyota Hilux. One suspect who was driving the bakkie was arrested for possession of a stolen motorcycle, which was a black Kawasaki.

The Toyota Hilux is suspected to be involved in multiple motorcycle thefts over the last few months.
Separate to this success, TMPD Land Invasion Unit members arrested two males for public violence today, 13 February 2024, in Ekangala. The two were part of the people who were participating in an illegal protest.

The members spotted them after the protest when they went to the residential area, blocked the roads and burned tyres. They ran when they noticed the officers but were apprehended.

When they searched them, one was found in possession of 6 zip locks of dagga. They were both arrested for public violence and a charge of possession of dagga was added on the one suspect.

Well done to the TMPD members for continued successes!
