🚧 UPDATE: SWARTBERG PASS OPEN 🚧
The Swartberg Pass is now open for travel. However, a word of caution: There’s still a container in the area, but it’s extremely unstable. Please stay clear of it, as any disturbance could send it over the edge of the cliff. Your safety is our priority.
Earlier Report

Please take note that the Swartberg Pass remains closed due to an unfortunate incident that occurred last night, on 02 September 2023.

A truck carrying oranges was involved in an accident when the back part of the vehicle veered off the road while navigating one of the sharp turns. The driver sustained injuries and has been taken to the local hospital for medical attention. Our thoughts are with the driver for a swift recovery.

Currently, the team from J & B in George is on-site, working diligently to recover the truck and remove the trailer. Unfortunately, it was deemed too dangerous to conduct the recovery operation in the dark last night.

We understand the inconvenience this closure may cause, and we appreciate your patience and understanding during this time. Safety remains our top priority, and we will keep you updated on the progress of the recovery efforts.
