KwaZulu-Natal: At approximately 14H10 Netcare 911 responded to reports of a heavy motor vehicle that had caught alight on the M41 Westbound just after the N2 Umhlanga interchange.
Reports from the scene allege that an electrical fault started the fire near the front of the cab, the driver pulled over to the side of the road to investigate, as he stopped the fire grew substantially.
There were no injuries reported and the left two lanes had to be closed to allow the Ethekwini Fire & Rescue services to put out the fire.
The SAPS was in the scene and will be investigating.
