Swift action by police officers on patrol led to the arrest of a hijacker in Nyanga this morning.
The 35-year-old man and his accomplices attempted to hijack a commercial truck at an intersection at the corners of Govan Mbeki and Link Roads whilst the truck was stationary by directing it into a side road.
The police officers gave chase resulting in the arrest of one suspect.
The suspect is currently in detention and will appear in the Athlone Magistrate’s court once charged.
