Volunteers were called following an incident on the N3 near the Benoni Bridge, where a truck driver sustained light injuries after being shot at.
En route, Volunteer OPS requested security backup from Crime Stop and contacted SAPS to attend to the incidents.
While the patient was being assessed on scene, a second truck was shot at. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the second incident.
The injured patient was transported privately to a nearby hospital for further care.
