Emer-G-Med paramedics responded to the scene of a collision involving a heavy-duty vehicle on the Sabie/White River Road.

On arrival on the scene, an articulated logging truck was found to have been careened off the roadway and overturned.
The driver and only occupant of the vehicle were found to be severely entrapped in the wreckage.

Emergency Care Practitioners worked to stabilize the man whilst Fire rescue services conducted a delicate rescue process over a two-hour period, cutting the man free using specialized hydraulic equipment including the Jaws-of-life.

Once free he was transported rapidly by ambulance to a nearby hospital for further care.
