On Thursday evening Emer-G-Med paramedics responded to the N1 in Midrand for reports of a serious motor vehicle collision.
It is alleged that the driver of a rollback truck collided with the back of an interlink truck resulting in the rollback driver being ejected from his vehicle.
The 23-year-old male patient was found to have sustained critical injuries and required advanced life-support interventions to stabilize him.
Due to the extent of the patient’s injuries a decision was made to airlift him through to a specialist facility with the assistance of the Netcare911 aeromedical helicopter.
