At approximately 10:34 yesterday morning, Trauma Rescue EMS received a call regarding a collision between a truck and a train at Galuka Impala Mine. Initial information indicated that the truck driver was entrapped inside the vehicle.
Upon arrival, Trauma Rescue EMS, Rustenburg First Responders, together with Fire and Rescue teams, worked hand-in-hand to extricate and treat the patient. The driver was successfully extricated from the truck cabin; however, due to the severity of his injuries, the patient was airlifted to Milpark Hospital for further intensive care.
This incident was attended by Eagle Trauma Rescue, Rustenburg First Responders, and Fire and Rescue.
