A tow truck driver narrowly escaped serious injury when his vehicle crashed and burst into flames on the R102 between Palm View and Phoenix Offramp.
KZN VIP paramedics and emergency services rushed to the scene after reports of a vehicle fire.
Upon arrival, they found the tow truck well alight in the centre median.
According to the driver, the vehicle veered off the roadway before crashing and catching fire.
The circumstances leading up to the crash are still unclear.
Fortunately, the driver sustained only minor injuries and was stable on scene.
