Just after 9.20 AM this morning, ALS Paramedics recieved multiple calls regarding a horrific multi vehicle accident on the M4 Southern Freeway Durban bound, just before Victoria Embankment.
Paramedics arrived on scene to find total carnage as they found multiple vehicles were involved in a collision involving a fully loaded taxi. Multiple casualties were found on the scene.
Immediately more ambulance and rescue services were dispatched to the scene. It’s believed a truck, a taxi and two to three vehicles had collided, before the taxi had rolled, ejecting most of its occupants.
At this stage, three people have passed away between the ages of 20-30. Approximately 15 people including children, have sustained injuries ranging from minor to critical and are currently being stabilized on scene before being transported to nearby hospitals.
SAPS are in attendance and will be investigating further.
