Three people have been injured two critically so after a Truck and a vehicle collided on Alexander Road in Westmead on Wednesday afternoon.

Just after 1pm Rescue Care Paramedics arrived on the scene to find chaos. A truck and a vehicle had collided in a T Bone Format. Two occupants from the vehicle had sustained critical injuries and were entrapped in the wreckage. Whilst Advanced Life Support Paramedics worked to stabilise the men the Durban Fire Department used the Jaws of Life and other hydraulics to free the men. One man was placed on a manual ventilator on the scene. Once freed both men were rushed to a nearby hospital for the urgent care that they required. The truck driver had sustained moderate injuries and was also stabilised by Advanced Life Support Paramedics before being transported to a nearby hospital.

Alexander Road was closed whilst emergency personal worked to clear the scene.

At this stage the events leading up to the collision is unknown however SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further.
