Fifteen people were left injured this evening when a truck and taxi collided at the Hendrik Potgieter and Nic Diedrics Road Intersection in Little Falls.
ER24 paramedics, along with several other services, arrived on the scene at 16h30 to find the truck and taxi in the middle of the intersection. Several passengers from the taxi had been ejected from the vehicle and were found scattered around the scene.
Local authorities began to close off the road and divert traffic while paramedics set up a triage area.
On assessment, paramedics found that fifteen people had been injured, several of them critically.
The patients were treated for their injuries, and the critically injured provided with advanced life support interventions, before they were transported to nearby provincial hospitals for further care.
The details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
