Public Order Policing (POP) members posted at Booysens area, arrested two suspects aged 23 and 24, while patrolling at approximately 00:30 on Rifle Range Road on Tuesday, 29 July 2025.
The suspects were found transporting 48 boxes of cough mixture medication, valued at R819 000.00, in a truck.
When questioned about the origin of the medication, the suspects stated it was from Cape Town and destined for Zimbabwe.
However, they failed to provide information on who instructed them to transport the goods. The suspects were arrested under the Medicine Act 101 of 1965 and possession of suspected stolen property.
The suspects will appear before the Magistrate court soon.
