Members of SAPS Alberton arrested three suspects, aged between 28 and 31, on Wednesday, 29 March 2023 for possession of explosives.
According to a preliminary report, the members were out on a routine crime prevention patrol when they noticed a vehicle with three occupants and intercepted the said vehicle. The suspects tried to flee on foot but were swiftly apprehended by the members.
Upon further investigation, the members recovered a large number of explosives which were found inside the suspects’ vehicle. The suspects are expected to appear before a Magistrates’ Court soon.
