On Monday 27 October 2025 from 05:00, the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Bronberg Precinct Officers, arrested three (3) male suspects between the ages of thirty (30) and forty-one (41) years, for assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm (GBH), in Daveyton.
The victim alleges that she contacted the suspect about hiring him to do renovations at her place of business. The suspect came and gave the victim a quote, then he left. The victim insists that she paid full amount of the quote and waited for the suspect to deliver as per their verbal contractual agreement.
The suspect did not perform according to the contents of their contract. The victim went to do a follow up, but she was turned away by the suspect as if he does not know her. When the victim insisted on her refund, the suspect assaulted her repeatedly with a steel pipe. The victim managed to run away and proceeded to open a case at the Daveyton SAPS.
Furthermore, Officers received information about a hijacked information was followed up. The white Mercedes Benz truck with two trailers was found abounded at Pretoria and Springs Road and it tested positive to hijacking with an Akasia case number. All the necessary procedure was followed. Thereafter, in a separate incident, an additional two male suspects, wanted for assault GBH, were arrested in Daveyton.
All three male suspects were read their constitutional rights and detained at Daveyton police station. They are expected to appear before the relevant Magistrate’s court soon.
