While monitoring the R28 route toward Bekkersdal, members of SAPS and the Gauteng Traffic Wardens received a tip-off regarding tampering with a tracking device on a hijacked truck in the Waterpan area.
The officers proceeded to the reported location where SAPS members apprehended one suspect at the site where the hijacked truck was recovered. The Gauteng Traffic Wardens gave chase and apprehended a second suspect who had fled the scene – the suspect was arrested at a Caltex garage.
