Efficient collaboration between various SAPS units and a private company led to the successful recovery of brand new furniture and the arrest of a 27-year-old man yesterday, 6 March 2021.
It is alleged that at about 11:45 the complainant and his assistant were busy with deliveries in Phuku Street, Kwanobuhle when they were approached by two unknown men. One of the men produced a firearm and threatened the complainant.
The suspects demanded the keys of the delivery truck and drove off, leaving the two victims behind. The complainant immediately notified the local police and after a few minutes the white Toyota pickup truck was found abandoned in Majoka Street, Kwanobuhle with all the furniture removed.
The team immediately followed up on information which led them to the residence of the 27-year-old suspect’s house where the lounge suite worth R8000 was recovered. The man was arrested on a charge of possession of suspected stolen property and is due to appear in the Kwanobuhle Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 8 March 2021. More arrests are imminent.
