On Sunday, a number of change-makers were recognised in the Pan African Supply Chain Awards. The event brings attention to the highest professional character and excellence in procurement and supply chain development. The importance of recognising these individuals cannot be underestimated because of the far-reaching impact they can have on South Africa’s economy and those across the continent.
MasterDrive was proud to be a partner, along with TK Global, of the event for the opportunity it provided to spread the road safety message. The CEO of MasterDrive, Eugene Herbert, explains: “It is estimated a third of all serious and fatal road collisions occur while an individual is driving for work. Highlighting road safety as an essential part of developing supply chains will play a vital role in building the industry in South Africa.
“There seems little value in building strong supply chains and logistics if the drivers that form part of that supply chain do not receive best training and support to handle the challenges South African roads present to all drivers. It is in the hands of those building procurement and supply chains to lead the way in incorporating this importance into their policies. Delivery of goods at the right time and in good conditions is core to sustainable supply chains”.
Each person was duly awarded for their efforts. “MasterDrive gives their sincere congratulations to each individual who demonstrated not just a commitment to their role but to improving their achievements, the organisations that they work in and the communities around them.”
The following individuals received awards:
- Dinana Reid – Professional of the Year
- Lerato Sebata – Best Contribution to the Reputation of the Profession
- Kwanele Mtembu – Best Cross-functional Teamwork
- Annah Ngxeketo – Best People Development Initiative
- Dorah Kgotse – Best Public Sector Procurement Project
- Lomakhosi Magagula – Top Woman Professional of the Year
