The South African National Defence Force Gears Up For Exercise VUKUHLOME V With Join Stabling Parade.
The South African Army held a stabling parade at B-Park, South African Army Combat Training Centre, in preparation for Exercise VUKUHLOME V and other joint operations.
The Parade brought together different role players, including the South African Military Health Service and the South African Police Service, to operate as one team, emphasizing unity and cooperation. The parade was organised and professional, with various commanders reporting on the readiness of personnel, vehicles and Prime Mission Equipment.
Challenges were raised, and solutions were provided immediately on the spot by relevant role-players, showing the South African Army’s commitment to combat readiness. The Commander of the South African Landward Forces, Lieutenant General Lawrence Khulekani Mbatha, emphasised that the task will be carried out collectively by all SA Army Formations, showing the importance of unity and cooperation.
He also stressed the need to balance legacy and modernisation. He stated that while heritage must be preserved, new equipment must be procured, and current equipment must be maintained and upgraded. A key resolution was to conduct maintenance runs to ensure reliability.
Lieutenant General Mbatha further said that the defence industry should be seen as friends of the South African Army. They play a vital role in strengthening capabilities. He said: “The stabling parade was part of building a better Army, one that is capable of working together with other partners to achieve success in joint missions.”
“Exercise VUKUHLOME V is not just a training exercise, but a step towards building a stronger, more capable and united South African Army,” concluded the Chief of the South African Army.
