The countdown to the announcement of the 2022 #ThankYouTrucker winners has begun! The top three will be announced on Monday 3 October. With voting closing on 28 September, co-organisers IVECO SA and the Road Freight Association are encouraging the public to cast their votes for their top truckers.
The five finalists are:
– David Mashiane – Imperial
– Donald Mthokozisi Mbokazi – Crossroads
– Jeffrey Maja – GEO Group
– Enoch Mokoena – Transvaal Heavy Transport (THT)
– Luticia Smith – Act Logistics
About our finalists
1) David Mashiane – Imperial
David’s expert driving skills and alertness enabled him to save a child’s life while on the road in Zimbabwe. Accident free for the last seven years, David transports dangerous goods in several countries in Africa.
2) Donald Mthokozisi Mbokazi – Crossroads
Donald joined Crossroads over 10 years ago. During this time, he has overcome tremendous health challenges such as lung disease and hearing loss. Quitting smoking, he now lives a far healthier lifestyle and continuously provides support to newly-recruited drivers.
3) Jeffrey Maja – GEO Group
Jeffrey has been driving trucks for 14 years – and simply loves what he does. Despite coming from a disadvantaged background with few role-models and little guidance, Jeffrey has always worked extremely hard, knowing that “if you go the extra mile, people will help you.”
Enoch Mokoena – Transvaal Heavy Transport (THT)
Enoch joined THT almost half a century ago. An “astonishing gentleman and driver”, his impeccable driving record and excellent interpersonal skills have earned him the respect of his employer, their staff and their clients. He has a hands-on approach and is outspoken about safety on the roads
5) Luticia Smith – Act Logistics
Luticia has been in the logistics industry for over a decade and is passionate about what she does. Not even breast cancer has kept her away from doing what she loves: driving trucks and supporting her colleagues in every way she can. Managing unmanageables and soldiering through pain – nothing will stop this lady!
