The Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) has successfully concluded an investigation into allegations of fraud and corruption at it’s Traffic Training Academy in Kempton Park. The investigation has uncovered serious irregularities involving fabricated documents used to gain entry into a training program for Examiner of Vehicles (EOV).
The case, stems from allegations that twelve (12) individuals submitted fraudulent appointment letters from various North West municipalities, misrepresenting themselves as legitimate municipal employees. The three municipalities they claimed to be employed by are JB Marks Local Municipality, Tswaing Local Municipality and Maquassi Hills Local Municipality. These fabricated documents facilitated their fraudulent registration on the program.
All three Local Municipalities from North West province were approached and they all denied having any relationship with these people. A case has been opened and the suspects are expected to appear at the Kempton Park Magistrates Court on 17 December 2024 on fraud, among others.
