Frustrated residents experiencing water cuts in Trenance Park – KZN threatened the driver of a water tanker today (Saturday).
A local Ward Councillor contacted Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) for assistance after the driver made telephonic contact with him and stated that he was being harassed by residents. Reaction Officers were dispatched and on arrival met with the driver.
He explained that he was tasked with filling Jojo tanks on the side of the road, but residents demanded that he make closer stops to their homes and allow them to fill water directly into their buckets. They began intimidating him after he refused. The driver thereafter contacted the Ward Councillor for assistance.
The truck was safely escorted by Reaction Officers to the next filling point.
