Limpopo MEC for the Department of Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure Ernest Rachoene will embark on a pothole patching and road maintenance programme as part of service delivery in the Vhembe District. The MEC started the programme in the Capricorn District’s Lepelle Nkumpi Municipality last week. The department declared January as a month in which 36 cost centres of the department will be all out maintaining roads in the province.

It is the department’s mandate to ensure that roads are maintained and drivable in the province. The recent rains experienced in many parts of the province have left some roads damaged. The potholes patch work is in addition to the work of #DikgerekgereWednesdays initiative focused on gravel roads.

The service delivery monitoring programme has been scheduled as follows:

Date: 06 January 2025
Venue: Road D4 N1 to Elim
Time:09:00
