
A 50-year-old man was hospitalised after a tree collapsed on him on Russom Street in Verulam – KZN.
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were called out to the scene by a passerby requesting assistance for the injured pedestrian.
On arrival, it was established that the driver of a Komatsu grader knocked into the tree while parking. The tree collapsed onto the road and injured the pedestrian. He sustained a fracture to his right leg.
He was stabilised on scene before being expedited to hospital by ambulance.
