the Limpopo Portfolio Committee responsible for Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure visited various projects including road R522 (P98/2) between Vivo and Makhado.
In its report presented to the Committee, Roads Agency Limpopo’s Accounting Authority, Mr Moses Tseli accompanied by the Acting CEO Mr Makhitha Chesane and senior management, highlighted challenges pertaining to delays in completing the project. They informed the Committee that the contractor was terminated due to underperformance.
RAL indicated that it is in the process of appointing a competent contractor to continue with the maintenance of the road which has been prioritised as an important linkage between Vivo and Makhado.
The Committee will be visiting other RAL roads in the coming days as part of its oversight responsibilities of ensuring service delivery for the people of Limpopo.
