The multi-disciplinary forces under operation Vala Ungodi are making their presence felt in the province as the suspects are feeling the heat under their collars.
This was evident when on Thursday 11 July 2024 the intelligence lead operation was conducted at a farm in Seloane village under Lulekane Policing area near Phalaborwa in Mopani District
The team comprising various units within the police and SANDF tactically approached illegal mining site and pounced on the suspect. The suspect, aged 31, is being detained at SAPS Lulekane and he will appear before Lulekane Magistrate’s Court soon.
The team managed to confiscate the following items:-
– Two Tipper trucks fully loaded with sand
– Four shovels
– Two picks
