
A 52-year-old male suspect was arrested for possession of suspected stolen Chrome, subsequent to the ongoing Operations Vala Umgodi, conducted at Sekhukhune District.
On Sunday, 9 March 2025, the members of Vala Umgodi Operations received positive information about illegal mining activities at Atok under Mecklenburg policing area.
Leads were successfully followed, which led to the arrest of a male suspect aged 52. The suspect was found driving a white horse truck with two trailers loaded with suspected stolen raw minerals.
The truck, two trailers, and chrome were confiscated and registered at the local police station.
The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, has commended the members of Vala Umgodi operations for their dedication displayed while performing their respective duties.
The police investigations are continuing.
