CERT-SA Centurion crew responded to reports of a serious vehicle collision involving a large truck and a light vehicle in Centurion.
Upon arrival, it was found that the driver of the light vehicle had sustained serious injuries, and the truck driver was trapped in the wreckage of his truck with no way to reach the patient.
One patient was transported to a nearby hospital in a serious condition while it took more than two hours to extricate the truck driver that was deeply entrapped in the cabin of the truck.
Sadly, the truck driver succumbed to his injuries and was declared deceased on the scene.
