Late yesterday afternoon Kwazulu Private Ambulance Service responded to the R74 Winterton road for reports of a collision.
When emergency services arrived they found that a large Axor tipper truck lost control and overturned.
Paramedics quickly assessed the scene and found that a patient had sustained critical injuries.
The patient was stabilized on scene and airlifted to hospital for further care.
