Members of the National Truck Drivers Foundation commonly known as Impolompolo have started engaging on programmes such as driver wellness and road safety.
They were pictured last week at the Mkondeni Weighbridge busy with their programme. Their Driver Wellness Programme is conducted at different weighbridges in the province featuring screening of TB, HIV, BP, Diabetes and sometimes eye testing with the aim of reducing road accidents by heavies as a result of poor health.
The Departments of Health and Transport have been involved in this project since its inception in 2007. Municipal Authorities are also involved in different parts of the province.
