In the early hours of Friday morning, IPSS Medical Rescue responded to the N3 Durban bound near Escourt after a truck collided into the back of a second truck.
Sadly, the driver was found to have sustained fatal injuries, and was declared deceased on scene.
The occupant of the truck was in a critical condition, and entrapped within the wreckage.
IPSS Medical Rescue Advanced Life Support Paramedics worked to stabilise the patient, while they were extricated by ILM Estcourt Fire Department.
The patient was transported by IPSS Medical Rescue to a nearby facility for further care.
