VRMED, Er24 and FSEMS were at the scene of a multi-vehicle collision on the N1 90 km south of Bloemfontein next to Edenburg late Sunday night.
According to dispatch information, a vehicle collided with a cow resulting in 3 other trucks colliding with the scene with one truck overturning.
Upon arrival VRMED found that 1 occupant had sustained fatal injuries and 6 occupants had sustained injuries ranging from moderate to serious; some requiring extrication from the wreckage by Mangaung Fire & Rescue. VRMED transported 2 patients with moderate injuries to LifeRosepark hospital. Er24 and FSEMS each transported 1 patient to Pelonomi hospital with critical injuries.
